Africologne DIALOGFORUM @ ECAS 2023 – Recognize, Restitute and Repair
For the first time, the africologneDIALOGFORUM will take place within the framework of the European Conference on African Studies (ECAS), which will be hosted by the Global South Studies Center (GSSC) of the University of Cologne in 2023. Panels and roundtables such as Making and unmaking the imperial museum or Decolonizing Academia will shed light on the need for structural and institutional change in the context of a process of decolonization.
africologneDIALOGFORUM @ ECAS 2023 will examine the nature of the demands for reparations and restitution, the reasons for their current resurgence, the reception given to them in the countries of the North, as well as the conditions required for the implementation of a reparations and restitution agenda beneficial to the countries of the South.
